<![CDATA[What are the Paonia Players about?]]>Fri, 24 Jun 2011 14:39:37 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/06/what-are-the-paonia-players-about.htmlPaonia Players' musical theatre education programs serve to foster confidence, creativity and cooperation in young people.

Summer Camp programs give students the opportunity to learn and perform group dances as well as choreograph on their own. Voice camps build solo and ensemble singing techniques, while Acting camps provide experience with monologues, scene study and improvisation. Paonia Players after-school programs-Down With That! Dance Troupe and the Sunshine Singers will begin in the fall of 2011.

Your support helps to provide tuition assistance to eligible students. In this current economic climate, with school arts programs cut from the curriculum, it is important for all kids to have the chance to learn music and theatre skills. Studies repeatedly show that kids who are involved in after school programs, particularly in the arts, show more self-confidence and succeed in school more than kids who do not participate in such programs.

<![CDATA[Destination Imagination Feedback]]>Mon, 09 May 2011 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/05/destination-imagination-feedback.htmlShauna Meilner provided us with some terrific feedback:

Thanks to all of you with Kids Pasta Project for a wonderful evening of fund-raising for Destination Imagination! I didn't get around to thank each of you, so I am hoping that you can send this message around. The food was delicious, service commendable, scenery spectacular, and we raised more $$ for our group than we thought possible! ... Thanks for caring enough about the kids in the community to let them be involved with such worthwhile project evenings. Fantastic!

<![CDATA[Cherry Days Dinner Observations]]>Mon, 02 May 2011 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/05/cherry-daysdinner-observations.htmlI love the way Cindie put up parchment paper to block the sunset ray that was hitting one of the tables last night. It was such a packed house; there was a maze to get to water glasses, but the kids managed to stay on top of things. All twelve of the kids who worked managed to write in their Work Journals thanks to Eliya, Ari and Siena's reminders. 'Another great crowd and crew! ]]><![CDATA[Thoughts about the Community Options dinner]]>Mon, 18 Apr 2011 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/04/thoughts-about-the-community-options-dinner.htmlWhat a positive and inspiring bunch of guests and volunteers we had at the dinner for Community Options! Tricia came early to talk to the volunteers about Community Option's work, and the kids had lots of questions for her. During the after-dinner presentations, the guests had lots of questions for the kids, too. It was a treat to hear responses to questions about what they are learning and doing!

Here are some comments by the attendees:

Bruce: "Thank you for an awesome dinner at a beautiful location! We'll be back again with friends!"

John: "Outstanding concept, and the meal was quite good too. We shall return!"

<![CDATA[A heartfelt thanks...]]>Mon, 28 Mar 2011 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/03/a-heartfelt-thanks.htmlFrom Lisa on behalf of the "Little Mermaid" production, which will be held at the Blue Sage Fri and Sat Apr 1-2 at 6:30P and Sun Apr 3 at 2P. No advance ticket sales; admission is $4 and $6 at the door.

"A Big BRAVO to KPP for a great dinner tonight! Thanks so much for all of your efforts and for the $150 raised that will go into the CTSF for Children's Theater Scholarships. The Silent Auction got off to a good start tonight.

I know there were some extra people who showed up without reservations and I hope that didn't cause you all too much trouble. Thanks for being so flexible with our group and accommodating us so well.

I am always inspired by the atmosphere [of a KPP dinner] and I hope to encourage my kids to be KPP volunteers. I know it would be a fun way for our family to participate in some good community service.

My waitress (Haley) last night really took pride in her job and it was apparent that she was enjoying playing her part in KPP. I was touched by her commitment. I love how your organization empowers kids to make a positive difference. The confidence in the hands making or serving the pasta is really about how good it feels to help your community. What a gift KPP is for everyone!

Much thanks to you and all of the kids who keep KPP going strong."

<![CDATA[Mountain Harvest Festival]]>Mon, 14 Mar 2011 07:00:00 GMThttp://www.kidspastaproject.org/1/post/2011/03/mountain-harvest-festival.htmlThe annual Mountain Harvest Festival in Paonia is a wonderful community celebration of agriculture, art, music and life in general on Colorado's Western Slope, held in Paonia in the North Fork Valley, the Heart of the Western Slope!

This festival draws people from around the West to share in the celebration, and features locally grown and produced agricultural products, including local beer and wine. It provides opportunities to learn about and meet local farmers, artists, musicians, craftsmen and performers from the Western Slope with interesting workshops and tours. Various local non-profit organizations are supported through many different activities.

Helen Highwater had this to say about tonight's dinner:

"We had a great time, the food was fabulous, and I am continually impressed with what a great organization you have built. The kids are so adorable and give of themselves so gladly week after week."
