First State Bank of Colorado contribute $250 for this award, which was matched with dinner profits for a total of $500 in prize money.
Award Background:
With the aim of creating a special recognition dinner for community organizations and honoring MLK National Day of Service, a group of Kids’ Pasta Project volunteers got together in November of 2009 to develop the guidelines, title and decision making procedure for this award. Inspired by the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service description, the following questions are answered by community organizations nominating themselves for the award or by others who wish to nominate them:
KPP Volunteers are invited to participate in choosing the organization that will receive the award, which will be presented at the KPP dinner on Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service on January 16.
This has proven to be a very positive way for volunteers to learn about and celebrate our community! Thank you for being a part of it!
