Everyone is welcome to volunteer for the Kids' Pasta Project!

Each week, a group of parents and kids are scheduled to prepare and serve dinner. Most of the members of the crew arrive to work after school and begin preparing the pasta and setting the tables. A healthy snack as well as a pasta dinner is provided for the volunteers.  When they sit down to dinner together before the guests arrive, they  have the opportunity to hear about the community organizations being sponsored and others who have applied.

Generally, we find that kids who are seven and older have the maturity and skills to work on the project.

To volunteer for the KPP, please fill out a
Volunteer Application and email us at kidspastaproject@gmail.com or call 970-250-6836.

Scheduling Information:
Each week, at least twelve kids and six adults volunteer to make and serve the pasta dinner!

  • In general, twelve kids work each week, four in the kitchen and eight in the dining room.  Each area has a supervisor.  The front of the house crew includes a maitre d', cashier, three wait staff and three bus staff.  Occassionally we also have a youth volunteer making and serving our new recipe, pumpkin seed pesto on bruschetta!

  • Each kid volunteers for the project works through all of the above positions, usually beginning in the kitchen or bussing tables.

  • Beginning in 2010, each youth volunteer will have a KPP My Work Journal to keep a record of KPP work and accomplishments.  Your supervisor signs off on your training and work record after each shift.     You will be able to keep this record to show potential employers the training and work you have accomplished.

  • We try to schedule each volunteer to work approximately once a month.  There are many variations in the schedule by season.  (Often volunteers who are involved in sports or other extra-curricular activities have to take off a few months at a time.)
