We are making science and math opportunities happen for kids in the North Fork Valley!  This year we are connecting scientists, computer programmers, engineers, and math specialists with specific classroom needs, such as science fair mentors and one-time presenters.  We are also working on the behind-the-scenes job of creating a non-profit organization so that we can get to our bigger projects:  First, providing materials that teachers may not have and making sure everyone shares the materials that are available, and finally, building our indoor and outdoor lab spaces, where kids can do math and science activities all day long and all year long!  We have learned that it takes about $4,000 this year to make it to the next step.  Of that total, $2,000 will pay our share for the VISTA who is doing most of the work for us.  Another $750 will go to the government for our non-profit application.  The rest of the money is for making brochures, paying the phone bill, and generally providing our VISTA the office materials she needs to make it to our goals!
